PXE Booting Vista/PE 2.0 Using PXELINUX.0
I want to know about booting Vista or PE v2.0 with the help of PXE through the PXELINUX.0 boot-loader. No matter what I try with PXELINUX, if I choose the kernel as PXEBOOT.COM or .0, then I will get a Number 1 at the lower left of the screen and the computer will immediately lock up. There are many users who have given workaround by changing the PXE boot file to PXEBOOT.0 or PXEBOOT.COM but I was wondering that isnt this BYPASSING PXELINUX? So can anyone tell me how to use PXELINUX and menu system that we can invoke post PXEBoot.com which will then enable me to creat menus and boot? Thanks for any replies.
RE: PXE Booting Vista/PE 2.0 Using PXELINUX.0
What you can do is go on the TFTP server and then copy pxeboot.n12 to pxeboot.0. After that use Boot/pxeboot.0 as your kernel statement. After that the lines that I used with pxelinux and vesamenu are written below:
label winpe
MENU LABEL ^Windows PE
kernel Boot/pxeboot.0
