Using ldapsearch to find things in the active directory
We want to run a Windows 2003 Active Directory native mode. We have got a 3rd party verdon that is trying to us ldapsearch which I think is redhat linux, to bind and then search our active directory. For long term they want to authenticate users against our active directory. Can anybody help me with this? Thanks.

Yes, it seems to be possible, you can fully authenticate user with kerberos agaisnt AD. Check the below link to find all the information that you want:

Thank you, so it means that I have to install unix services on my domain controllers?
Re: Using ldapsearch to find things in the active directory
You dont need to, what you have to do is only configure it. On the AD side it might need schema extension, on unix/linux side it might need installation of additional modules or configuration if such modules are already in place.
