Age of Empires 3 Failed to join game Error

I am getting Failed to join game Error on Age of Empire 3. My friends are also getting the same error. I had tried to connect through different ip address but still it is not working. While on the other end my friends are getting the same issue. I am using Windows XP. I had checked that none of us are affected by security applications like firewall or due to the antivirus software. It is really annoying.

It is a connectivity failure issue due to which you are unable to join a multiplayer session. What you have to do is go in your router and forward a port for the game. Once you forward the port other people will also have to do the same and then you guys can play the game. It is a bug with the game itself. So best recommended is to forward and port and then move ahead with the gameplay.
