1024 * 768 @75HZ ;)
Well said bottle anything below 75 to 85 HZ is not acceptable...
Lower refresh rate hurts ur eyes...if im right....
yeah a higher resolution gives clearer picture [but puts more load on cpu , vid card (gamingwise)] but its better not to go below 70hz or so , better for the eyes but i dont think anything more than 70-80 makes a difference
I guess that guy only has a 15" that doesn't do 1024@75. So well its best to run 800x600 @75 for him. If its a 17", the best res to use is 1280x960@72
which 17" monitor can do that? :ohmy:Quote:

I use 1024*768 @ 85Hz.The best setting for a 17" period.
Most can... including the vanilla samsungs (753s, 773s,793s etc). Its undocumented so it won't show up in the list if u enable "hide modes that this monitor cannot display". Remove the check from the box and select that res/refresh.Quote:

Won't be by default... U'd have to set it manually in the config file, or use some tool to force 85Hz rate in directx games.Quote:

Higher refresh rates are better for eyes...but if u're just a casual gamer and play for only an hour or so at stretch, then it won't hurt u... i think
1024*768 @56hz & 30fps .
What ^^ How can you play at 56 hz it kills the eyes
you have an ati card so u can force the refresh rate to whichever you want in the ati control panelQuote:
