Media Player 11 and Duplicate Songs
If I am opening Windows Media Player 11 then it is listing all songs 2 times. When I open properties then it points in the same location even though the time has a minute apart. If I am looking in the folder in Windows Explorer then it is only listing 1 song though? Any ideas
RE: Media Player 11 and Duplicate Songs
Incase the copy of the songs are similar then you can try to download some duplicate files remover tools, simply search it on the net and download it from there. This type of software are able to find files that are exactly similar and then delete them, even if the names are different. But note that it could delete all duplicate files on your computer.

I had the same problem. Here's how to fix. Media 11 adds search/monitor drives. If the song/songs is located in two places that are being monitored it will show up twice.
Reveiw your monitored drives.
Hope this helps!
Re: Media Player 11 and Duplicate Songs
Thanks NumbNutsX...your idea of the titles being stored twice on separate locations on my PC was exactly right. I had copied the contents of a memory stick to my desktop and it had a copy of the album I was playing. I deleted the 2nd copy and presto, media player 11 now only lists the song once. Shame on the folks at Microsoft for allowing such a crappy thing to happen, very annoying, much like itunes. Oh how I hate itunes, but that's another story.
Cheers.
