WMP10 and WMP11 do not play .asx files that work fine in WMP9, error message C00D1197

I have Gateway 400VTX notebook running with Windows XP SP2. I use to listed a Radio station everyday on this laptop while working. Earlier it was WMP 9 which was able to run this radio station’s .asx files comfortably. Last week I updated my Windows Media Player to 10 and since then am not able to play it anymore. Tried out many troubleshooting but none of them worked.

It gives me the following Error Message:

Later I thought it could be WMP problem and hopefully WMP 11 can do the work. Hence upgraded it again form v10 to v11 beta2 but surprisingly the problem still persists. One thing am not able to understand is the files which WMP 9 can play, cannot be played in WMP10 and 11.

Any Advice?

As the error message itself says that the file is moved or URL is not valid, this is not at all the Windows or WMP problem. Instead it is the website problem from where you are trying to stream. You should contact them for help on this.

Ok Brandy, I’ll try to contact them. BTW, if that is the case I don’t think WMP 9 will also work now, right? I was thinking to download WMP 9 again.
