Search Companion selection pane is blank in XP Home
Hi, I need some urgent help regarding the Search Companion as mentioned in my subject line. This is Windows XP system which was infected from some malware which is not cleaned completely using AVG 7 antivirus. Everything is fine now but my Search stopped working. The search options selection pane is blank, but the dog is still showing. I tried searching for some help on web but dint found anything working. Can anyone from here please provide me some working solution? Many Thanks.

Thank you very much for the help Javalr but that dint worked for me. Whenever i run that command, it ends up saying:
"DllRegisterServer in jscript.dll failed, Return code was:0x80004005".
Still the problem remains as it.
Re: Search Companion selection pane is blank in XP Home
Well guys, the problem is with some registry key and its permissions. Here is how to reset it.In Windows XP Professional, you may use the following secedit command-line to reset the file and registry permissions to defaults.
"secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose" Remember that you only need to reset the permissions for "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" hive
