RE: USB FLASH DRIVE DOES NOT FORMAT
I Have literally just made this mistake. I began a windows install and left
the USB flash drive in. I saw it and thought it was a partition on the hard
drive so I deleted it. Not until I attempted to use it I found that I
couldn't simply because the file structure has been removed (NTFS, FAT32 or
FAT 16 (older)).
I literally placed it back in the USB slot and began a re-installation but
ensured I did not touch the C:\ drive.
If you have Windows XP go for an install and at the end you will get the
option to format the drive, this is where you would select the NTFS option.
As soon as windows has formatted it and gave the drive a file structure it
should then work (after being formatted in windows OS).
You also may be able to download a USB manager which does this in windows
(but I could not get one to work in XP, hene why I went through the semi
installation process).

Re: USB FLASH DRIVE DOES NOT FORMAT
Blackie can not format the USB drive. The only other problem would be if
there is a major problem with the USB drive. If it has been damaged (loss of
file structure as I had) then that was the way I corrected the problem.
The long description is due to a word called communication. If only half the
story is told only half the information gets passed over and questions are
asked as well as some doubt.
