Windows Mobile 5.0 PPTP connection
I am trying to connect a windows mobile 5.0 pocket PC to a windows 2003 sp1
RAS. I am using a PPTP vpn connection to try to connect. I receive the
following error in the event viewer on the windows 2003 server. The event
viewer comes up with a RASMAN error - The connection between the VPN Server
and the VPN Client has been established but the VPN cannot be established.
Event ID 20209. It talks about GRE47 being blocked, and actually the
connection is not established. I have checked all I could think of and it
does not seem to be blocked. We have many windows 2000 PC, and windows XP
pc's that connect to this VPN server as well and they do not have a problem.
Does anyone have any idea's as to what this can be? Is it actually a problem
with port 47 being blocked somewhere. I found some posts about checking your
router and a VPN setting. We are using Cisco2620 routes and as far as I know
there is not setting for this. Are access lists do not block this port.
Thanks for your help.

Post your ACL if you can. If you don't see a specific permit for GRE, you're
blocking it.

Re: Windows Mobile 5.0 PPTP connection
We just changed it to
access-list 130 permit ip 192.168.10.0 0.0.0.255 any
which I am assuming allows all IP traffic. We connected with a windows 2000
pc and our firewall shows the router and firewall allowing 1723, and GRE47
packets trough for that connection. Then we tried the windows mobile 5.0 vpn
and the logs just show 1723, no recored of GRE allowed or blocked. To me
that says it must be Cingular's network or the windows mobile device. I
called cingular and they said they do not block any port at all. I am
starting to think is is something on the windows mobile device. I beleive
our raouter and firewall allow this traffic threw.
