Spell Check Not working in MS Word
Hi, this is Microsoft Office 2003 running on Windows XP SP3. Something went wrong with my Word. Whenever I try to run Spell Check in the document, it gives me an error message saying:
“Word cannot find the grammar file msgr??32.dll and
Word cannot find the spell file MSSpell3.dll or mssp232.dll”
I request someone to please let me know how can I fix this error and make my spell check run again? Thank you.
Re: Spell Check Not working in MS Word
You must know that Spell Checker requires proofing tools to be installed on your computer. Though you have some proofing tools installed, but as per the error message mentioned above, it occurs only when you do not have proofing tool installed for the particular language. I mean, if your text is formatted as language for which you do not have proofing tools installed.
Anyways, just give this a try:
Open a document where this problem occurs, press Ctrl+A to select all of the text, click on Tools > Language > Set Language > choose your language > uncheck the "Detect language automatically" and "Do not check spelling or grammar" boxes > Default > OK. Then press F7 to rerun spelling and grammar checks, and save the document. See if it works for you.

Re: Spell Check Not working in MS Word
1) First you need to open a Microsoft Word document
2) Click the MOB (Microsoft Office Button) at the top left corner
3) At the bottom of that menu is a button labeled "Word Options" (it's next to "Exit Word")
4) On the left side is a list. Click "Add-Ins"
5) At the bottom of this menu there is a small box next to the word Manage
6) Click that box and select "Disabled Items" from the list
7) Once you have selected this click the "Go" next to it
8) A new window will open and if on of the options has the words "Spell Check" then select this
9) Once the option is selected then proceed with clicking Enable.
10) Close the "Word Options" menu and proceed to type an obvious misspelled word to test it.
Thanks to Aron for this.
