The destination server is currently rejecting replication requests

I am facing issue with Active Directory configured between 2 domain controlling running on Windows 2000. Now the replication process is not really so complicated. They must work properly. After running DC Promo and fixing the AD/DNS I am facing a error. It is some Event ID 1586 warning. The checkpont process failed. Manual process is possible here, but that looks a bit complicated. What can I do here to fix the issue.
