You receive Initialization error 0x80072F78 while the Windows Update Web site is
loading
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;885819
You experience problems when you access the Windows Update Version 5 Web site through
a server that is running ISA Server

Re: Error 0x80072F78
I'm having the same issue. We don't use ISA or any other proxy.
This is for Server 2000 running SP4, IE6 SP1.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Eddie

Re: Error 0x80072F78
Ideas only:-
Make sure that any firewalls etc are not blocking the svhost.exe.
John Dough posted:
“I ran proxycfg anm it showed I was still setup for a proxy - even though in
IE it
showed I wasn't using one.
Running "proxycfg -d" fixed it all up.â€
