intel r 82801DB Ultra ATA Storage Controller- 24CB

I am a Windows XP user with the following Configuration: Intel D845GERG2 AAA97835 Mobo and Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz. Last week don’t know how and from where my system got infected with Viruses and trojans. So far I have tried scanning my system with Norton, AVG and several online scanner programs but no one was able to clean my system. SO finally I formatted the complete hard drive and re-installed Windows. Fortunately, I guess, I got rid of Viruses but there is a new problem now.

After installing Windows, I installed all required drivers and softwares. Also ran Intel drivers CD but still when I go to device manager I saw several Yellow marks. Later I went Intel website and download all drivers, installed them on my system and now only multimedia audio controller and video controller are showing up Yellow marks. I did some research and found official announcement of Intel saying they no longer support the 82801DB Ultra DMA controllers. They also mentioned that there is patch which needs to be applied in order to fix the same. Well I tried that as well but yet no success.

Can anyone please provide me some working fix ? Thanks.

Just try out the drivers available here. It should work, i installed them recently on one of my pc.

Did you tried loading the INF (ICH4) file for the chipset after installing Windows XP? If not, try it and work your way down the list of drivers provided on the Intel web site (given previously).
