Roaming Profiles - Problem with User Desktop
I need help to configure Windows 2003 Server. I had created a roaming profile here and also enabled folder redirection. I had did this through group policy. This was done for application data and for my documents. In short I had configured the entire desktop for redirection. Now when I login it captures the copy of the profile from server and move the same to pc so that default settings are applied. But it is not working on all desktop. It is only working on some pc.
RE: Roaming Profiles - Problem with User Desktop
I am getting the same thing. I had seen roaming profiles are not really so effective in usage. They get this kind of issue commonly. When there is some changes in the server edition the workstation gets update from the same. So that the changes can be applied to the desktop. But things does not look working well. There can be problem with the profile settings also.
Re: Roaming Profiles - Problem with User Desktop
In folder redirection do not set it to the local user profile
Set it instead to:
\\Server\Profile Share\Desktop
In other words, set it directly to the server. This means when something is created or deleated it is deleats directly instead of just the local profile.
