Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A I9506 started getting Android 5.0 Lollipop

A previous Samsung's flagship smartphone begins to receive the update to Android Lollipop with so many manufacturers, HTC and Motorola having being delayed because of bugs. Some European countries are already well served.

The thing was agreed since October 2014, and obviously expected by its users. The smartphone Galaxy S4, Samsung's flagship released in 2013, would be entitled to upgrade to Android Lollipop. This eligibility obviously concerns the different variants, including LTE-A Version (I9506 reference) with access to the Snapdragon 800 platform with its quad-core 2.3 GHz processor and modem of 4G/LTE to 150 Mbit/s.

And it is precisely this smartphone Galaxy S4 LTE-A starts to receive the new firmware based on Android Lollipop. Availability effect is evoked in China, but also closer to home in Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. So it only remains to wait for notification and check from time to time the possible availability, expected for us in the coming weeks. Based on Android 5.0.1 ROM, it is stamped as I9506XXUDOA6 and requires downloading of 1.2 GB in the case of Europe. It must indeed be content with Android 5.0 on the Chinese market, with a ROM G9006WZNU1BOA4.

To recall, the update Android Lollipop is accompanied by a new notification manager, new security modules and better autonomy, to which specific improvements to overlay are added by the manufacturer (TouchWiz, in Samsung).

Speaking of Android Lollipop update, the latest version to date is 5.1 which is already available to Android One smartphones program and which will soon benefit Nexus models.
