error code 0x000006f7 installing printer
I am running Windows 7 on my computer and I am trying to install an old HP Laserjet 5000 series printer on it. But when I am trying to install the it then I am getting an error message called "Unable to install printer. Operating could not be completed (error 0x000006f7). I went to the HP website and downloaded the latest drivers from there and reinstalled it but I am still getting the same error message. Is there anyone who can help me out to sort out this problem? Thanks
Re: error code 0x000006f7 installing printer
You are facing this problem because of the heavy driver conflict. I will recommend you to reinstall the printer and usb drivers if it is usb connected, usually. But before proceeding ahead you should also try to make a Restore point for any future trouble. This error code 0x000006f7 usually means that there are some misconfigured system files in your Windows operating system. You can try to search for a repair tool for this error on the internet and download it as well.

Can you try to enable or disable network discovery and see if that works. To do that open Advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click Network and Sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click Change advanced sharing settings. Click the chevron Picture to expand your current network profile. Click Turn on network discovery, and then click Save changes. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. If the above solution doesnt work then you can try a couple of things to install the printer fully. First of all unplug the usb cable. After that uninstall the software from the CD. Now you need to go to Start > Computer and right click on the CD drive and choose open and double click uninstall. Restart your computer and then go back to Start > Computer and right click on the CD drive and select open and then right click on Setup and run as Administrator.
