Antec HCG-750W for GTX 970 Extreme
I am going to buy a new Geforce GTX 970 Extreme graphics card and for that I am looking to purchase the Antec High Current Gamer 750Watt power supply. I know that this psu is enough to run this video card but what I want to know is whether I can connect in both 6+2 pin cables on one of the biggest slots or one should go on each or it is like similar thing? Also, at the end of the 6+2 pin cables one of the pin does not have metal inside, so is that normal? Thanks for answering my question.

Incase they are going into the video card directly then you should plug one into the 12v1 and the other into the 12v2 so that they dont get pulled from the same rail. I dont know for sure about that but you must check in the user manual that came with the unit. I am guessing that it might be possible that it can be plugged into one place only. Different manufacturers configure their units differently so it is hard to know what each has going where.

If you can check on the image of the manual then you should see for yourself that you will be able to connect 1 or 2 of the 8pin connectors to either of the 16 pin sockets. I would suggest you to connect one of the PCIe power plug which goes into the graphics card into each separate socket so there wont be load all on one rail. I think that they will plug into either half of the 16 pin socket on the power supply.
Re: Antec HCG-750W for GTX 970 Extreme
You might be able to connec 1 or 2 modular 8-pin cables into any of the 16 pin sockets. It means that there could be 4 places and 2 on each 16 pin socket where you can plug those in. Any of those will work properly in either half of the 16 pin socket. There should be 4 places where that plug can fit and any of those 4 is alright. But it will be good if you use one of them on 12v1 and the other one on 12v2.
