AMD FX 8350 with Antec H20 620 cooler problem
For almost two years or so I have been using AMD FX-8350 processor in my Asus motherboard. At that time I also bought a new Antec H2O 620 cooler which used to manage the heat for around 30C to 40C. But now, with the same cooler now I am getting a temperature of around 60C to 70C at idle. I have not done any overclocking as well. So can anyone tell me how do I solve this overheating problem? Thanks

You can try to clean up the thermal paste and then reapply it again in your computer. You can also try to blow compressed air in the reverse fan flow on the radiator and see if that helps. I am guessing that the fins may have dust build up onto it. After a long period of time, most of the cooler has to be clean-up from time to time so that its thermal conductivity can be preserved. Also, try to open the side case and see if that reduces some temperature from your computer.

Can you check whether the tubing and the radiator is getting warm. If that is the case then the processor that you are having is giving out a lot of heat. It might be possible that the cooling apparatus is aborbing and dissipating heat. You should also try to clean up and reapply new thermal paste as mentioned above. Also, you can try to add another fan to the radiator setting it for push/pull method and check what temperature reading you are getting.

Well, it might be also possible that your cooler is having some problems. Can you try to use the stock cooler or something else on your CPU to test out the CPU? This way you can find out whether it is the cooler problem the CPU problem as well. You can also try to contact Antec support and see if you can return the cooler incase it is under warranty. I have used Antec 620 cooler on my friends computer and for 2-3 years now, he is still getting 65C temp at load, that is, while gaming.
