Microsoft is going to abandon Windows 7 Mainstream support

On January 13, 2015 Microsoft will end the Mainstream Support for Windows 7. There will be still time of extended support.

After the death of Windows XP, is it similar time for Windows 7 already? This is still far from being the case for the operating system that is sometimes accused of Windows XP again given its popularity. However, Microsoft has begun to shake the checkered flag.

On 13 January 2015, the main phase of Windows 7 ends. Do not panic, as it just means that in six months it will have to wait for the new OS features or bug fixes.

But beware, this does not apply to security bugs because Windows 7 will then enter extension phase support where updates to security will be continued to be distributed free to all.

In sum, dated January 13, 2015 is mainly to keep in mind by the companies that make requests for changes or new features for Windows 7. For the individual, there is no need to worry.

That is if the odds of Windows 7 is still good, the big question will arise against the horizon by the January 14, 2020, the date on which it is currently scheduled to cease all support for the operating system. A country like South Korea is already taking its provisions.
