System fail to boot when ps2 keyboard is connected
I am having a bit different issue in my system. I have a old ps2 mechanical keyboard. It is working fine. When I connect that keyboard to my pc, my system does not turn on. Sometime it just restart on its own. And I am also not able to get in the bios. But when I connect a usb keyboard it works really well. What can be problem. I hope there is not some board fault. Because the motherboard is just 2 months old.
Re: System fail to boot when ps2 keyboard is connected
The port is defective due to which you are getting this problem. You have to simply leave the keyboard aside. It is not the keyboard fault. It is due to damage port. Many board has two psu port among which keyboard and mouse are used separately while some have combo ps2 port. A single one where you can use keyboard and mouse both. You can try updating the bios and check back. If not working then avoid using the keyboard.

It is right. This can be due to damage port due to which you are facing issue. It is good to avoid using it. You can try one thing here. You can go in bios and there you can see if there is any option disabled under keyboard. You can find that in integrated peripherals. Updating bios is not going to help you much. To get the latest bios update go on the official site only. The hardware here is interrupting system boot, that is because it is damage.
