Wifi stopped working on Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5
I had formatted my friends pc and upgraded to Windows 8. He was using Vista before. After that I had updated the drivers also. The board that we are using is Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5. This board has a wifi support. It is not working. I am able to use internet through lan network but I am unable to get a constant wifi connection through the wifi card. I had tried updating the drivers and several other things but it is not working.

You have to check first the wifi is detected or not. If it is not then see whether it is properly connected. You have to pen the case and there you can see a tiny card hooked a small motherboard slot. Many board has multiple slots. You can change that. Then boot your pc in normal mode and see that you can see a new hardware installation wizard. You can also going Device Manager to verify whether the drivers are properly installed or not.

After installation did you updated all the drivers. I am talking about Windows 8 compatible drivers. Many people use the same old driver disc and run them. This add outdated driver which generate ample of hardware problem. Go on the official site of Gigabyte and donwload the latest driver on the basis of your operating system compatibility and then check back. The wifi will start working as it get the best drivers.
