Reporting on a shared resource pool
Hi, and thanks in advance for any assistance that you may be able to provide.
I am using MSP 2010. I have multiple schedules, that I have setup to use a Shared resource pool.
I would like to be able to generate a report that shows task assignments for each resource in the resource pool grouped by the project name.
I am finding that when I create the "group" to group by project, it is not working because it is always returning the name of the shared resource pool project as the project...i.e. a single group called "Shared Resource Pool".
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Stuart
Re: Reporting on a shared resource pool
Can you check the below article on "Add resources to the enterprise resource pool" and see if that helps you out:

Re: Reporting on a shared resource pool
Thanks - I have had no problem adding the shared resource, it's just a matter of now pulling out a sensible report on the data. Still have not worked this out.
Re: Reporting on a shared resource pool
Assuming you want to group first by Resource and then by project:
Open the Pool file and display the Resource Usage view.
Create a custom group with the following definition:
Group by:
Field: Name
Type: Resource
Order: Ascending
Then By:
Field: Project
Type: Assignment
Order: Ascending
In order to group by Assignment, you'll need to check the option "Group assignments not resources."
