Overclocking Amd FX-6300 to 4.7GHz
I am using a Amd FX-6300 processor and want to overclock it to 4.7GHz. Can anyone tell me how do I overclock the CPU with only the multiplier and get to this overclock rate? Also, will it be a decent overclock if I am not going to use any other settings? How much temperature rise can I expect after reaching this overclocking? Thanks
Re: Overclocking Amd FX-6300 to 4.7GHz
I have found out that the Amd FX-6300 processor can be overclocked similarly like an Intel i5 3570k processor, but I dont know for sure if it can reach the 4.7ghz overclock rate, although there are successful overclock of 4.5ghz done. You can get yourself a hyper 212 plus cpu cooler with the multiplier setting only and then try to overclock it to 4.5ghz stable.
Re: Overclocking Amd FX-6300 to 4.7GHz
I have overclocked the Amd FX-6300 CPU to 4.7ghz at 1.55volt and was getting a temperature of only 55C while playing games on my computer build. For 2 hours I didnt have any kind of problems related to crash. But I read that 1.55volts is too high for this CPU so I lowered it down to 1.48volt. So, I would say that do not leave the overclock to 4.7ghz all the time.

First of all try to disable the turbocore if you are overclocking and you will also need to spread spectrum incase your motherboard has any option for it. You should also ensure that you have set the RAM voltage manually to specified volt that is metioned above the post which is 1.55v unless you are using low voltage RAM. Also, upgrade your PSU if it is not able to hold the overclocking to feed CPU 12v power for running.
