MS Project 2007 file size
I've got a large MS Project file which I've been working on, using MS Project 2007. It's been a bit slow but working ok, but now it's over 100MB and I'm having trouble opening it. I'm wondering whether there is an easy way to make it smaller - I'm guessing that it's holding a lot of unneccessary data but not sure if there is an easy way to delete it?
Thanks,
Matthew.
Re: MS Project 2007 file size
You can try to update to Service Pack 1 of Project 2007 and see if that fixes the problem. The files will open but still it will corrupt sometimes.
Re: MS Project 2007 file size
Project 2007 is up to Service Pack 3 and it should be installed. You can try a couple of options:
- Open the file and without making any changes, perform a File> Save As and save to a new file name. Check the new file for a decrease in file size.
- Save the file as XML (File > Save AS) and then open the XML file as a new project. You will lose any custom formatting.
I hope this helps.
