I went to the seagate website and entered the model of this hard drive and then I got many different iso file for this drive. When trying any of those then I get some kind of error that firmware cant be opened or exit? Does anyone know how do I update firmware for this drive? Thanks.
Re: Seagate 3TB ST3000DM001 hard drive firmware problem
The model of the hard drive that you have got a production error but it seems that seagate doesnt want to remove it from the shops. All the solutions given do not work at all. I did an update to my hard drive and then after a week the drive was dead. So, it is not good to update firmware since it is a hardware issue and firmware update cannot fix this issue. You can try to do a replacement if it is in warranty.
Re: Seagate 3TB ST3000DM001 hard drive firmware problem
I had the same problem but was able to update the firmware by using a CD Drive. After that I disconnected all other drives from my computer and then used the cable for the drive that I want to update from the Sata 3 bay to a normal Sata bay and it worked. But the main problem of drive clicking has not gone fully and still is kind of annoying.

You can try to rename the LOD files which is a safer method to peform the update. This way they will match the corresponding entries in the update matrix and then re-execute the updater. You can check out the below link that will explain you in details on how to do Firmware Update:
