Kingston HyperX CL11 or Corsair CL9 Memory
I got a Asus Maximus VI Hero with i7 core processor and a Corsair RAM. I recently came to know that my CPU can support RAM upto 2933mhz with 1.65v as per the list given on the intel website. I did some testing on my machine by boosting upto 2000mhz cl10 settings and got a very good performance. Now I am looking to buy some RAM that will work on 2000mhz+. For that I was looking to either get the Kingston HyperX CL11 or the Corsair CL9 Memory? There are not much price difference between both, but I need your suggestion on which should I get? Thanks.
Re: Kingston HyperX CL11 or Corsair CL9 Memory
What ever RAM you are getting above 1600mhz it will not make any kind of difference and you wont notice it either. It will limt your overclock also that you might be able to carry more out of than just RAM. I am using a DDR3 2000mhz memory and switched to 8gb set of 1600mhz that made no difference. Usually the latency wont be a big deal, but some of the RAM sticks might vary on the TL.
Re: Kingston HyperX CL11 or Corsair CL9 Memory
I would suggest you to get a G.Skill TridentX CL10 and comparing it with both the Kingston HyperX CL11 or Corsair CL9 Memory, it is much higher in performance. The Corsair set gives same performance but its ICs are weaker and some other parts as well like the memory chips, etc. You will be able to boost it to 2400 but with a Trident memory you can go up to 2666mhz if you want to overclock.
Re: Kingston HyperX CL11 or Corsair CL9 Memory
The Corsair CL9 Memory is a little faster where else the Kingston HyperX CL11 is a more stable memory. Most of the time all the 8gb sticks are higher CL than 9. When you check at the benchmark only APUs then it looks to benefit a noticeable amoung from faster than 1600mhz CL9 Ram. The fact is that 1600mhz CL9 is the standard RAM configuration but it is true that you get a little more performance from the 2133 CL11 Ram.
