GSkill Trident X vs Kingston Hyperx Beast memory
I am using a ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX mobo with 2 gb of RAM from Kingston and a Geforce 600 series graphics card with 700W power supply. I am looking to upgrade my RAM now to atleast 8gb and therefore I am looking to buy either the Kingston Hyperx Beast or GSkill Trident X DDR3 memory @ 2400mhz. Which do you think would be the best RAM to go for? Thanks
Re: GSkill Trident X vs Kingston Hyperx Beast memory
What processor you have because if it is AMD then you wont be able to set the mhz to 2400 and the pc wouldnt boot as well. It will eventually reset them back to 1333mhz with a failed overclock, how you will be able to downclock it to 2133, which might work for you. I would even say that it is really a waste if you cant run it on 2400, get a cheaper 2133 memory instead.

Yes, even I agree with the above reply. You can get the G.SKILL Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C9D-16GTX at $165. The speed of the memory is very fast and the price is also reasonable. The GSkill memory works great and I havent had any problems till yet with this brand. Also, XMP profile are not supported on with AMD machines, so you will have to overclock this RAM a bit to get the 2133Mhz.
Re: GSkill Trident X vs Kingston Hyperx Beast memory
I have recently purchased the Kingston Hyperx Beast memory kit and I am completely satisfied with its performance. The memory on my system is running at 2400mhz and I have even heard from somewhere that we might be able to push it to 2600+ with a little bit of tweaking. Also, when I bought this memory kit then they were sold at $20 less, so it seems that I was lucky to get it at a lower price.
