Lenovo Miix Convertible Windows 8 tablet launches
Lenovo has announced the launch of "Miix", a new Windows 8 tablet at relatively affordable cost.
The new Lenovo Miix completes the range of multimode as said by the Chinese manufacturer products. An optional keyboard case can actually be used like a conventional laptop with it.
The tablet is based on the x86 architecture, which allows it to run on Windows 8 (as opposed to Windows RT) and all Windows software, in addition to the Modern UI of Windows Store applications. Unfortunately Microsoft Office 2013 does not seems to come with it.
Miix is almost an economic variant of the ThinkPad Tablet 2. Its non-slip shell and HD touch screen of 10.1-inch, also with an Intel Atom Z2760 processor (two cores with Hyper-Threading clocked at 1.8 GHz) and a 64 GB SSD, makes it a good adversary.
But wireless connectivity sticks to Wi-Fi, NFC and 3G or 4G is not available, the sensor has gone back to 1.3 million pixels (1280 x 1024 pixels), but also and especially the screen no longer supports electromagnetic induction stylus, which is similar to a Wacom tablet.
The Lenovo tablet Miix must be sold in exchange for $500 from the third quarter of 2013. This price does not include the keyboard, which will be sold for $50 separately. No date and prices are reported till yet.

Lenovo also promises 10 hours of battery life and will come with a micro-SD slot for a possible memory expansion up to 32GB. It boasts 10 millimeters thickness and weighs only 550 grams. The CEO of the firm expects that the convertible PC is gaining popularity for tablets focused on entertainment, over time. However, so far the devices in Windows 8 have not been supplied on a large scale in the market.
