Kingston HyperX 3k 120gb vs Sandisk Extreme 120gb
Hello,
I am actually confused between these 2 drives about which is the best one. Looking at their stats alone, I am thinking that the kingston ssd would be the winner. But I wonder if these numbers (stats) really matter a lot when it comes to the real performance? So, is there anyone who can guide me as to which drive will be the best buy and why should I purchase it? Does anyone have some experience about these drives? Thanks.

I would definitely vote for Kingston HyperX 3k 120gb, I have this SSd and it runs very fast and without any errors. With the help of it, Windows will also boot under 10 seconds. So, you can imagine that it definitely gives a good performance. Its MLC chips engraved at 25nm and provided by Intel holds at least 3000 cycles.

I havent tested Kingston HyperX models since I was already using the Sandisk Extreme SSd that I bought some time ago and it has not given me any issues till now. All the things are running well, but if Kingston is giving higher performance then I will try to definitely exchange it if I want to. What really matters is whether there will be a noticeable performance difference between these 2 drives and it seems to me that the read/write speed on the Kingston is indeed faster.

The Kingston HyperX SSD 120GB SATA3 3K NAND Flash is manufactured in 25nm and synchronous to the memory controller SandForce SF-2281. Besides the 120GB model, there are also versions with 90GB, 240GB and 480GB, and they all use the SATA 3 interface as Kingston offers transfer speeds in excess of 500MB/s. It uses the usual format of 2.5" and estimated lifetime is 1 million hours. It's a pretty affordable SSD, since it currently can be purchased for about 100€ in the version that only includes the SSD. Kingston also offers this model in an upgrade kit, where in addition to the SSD, it includes an outer housing, an adapter for 3.5" to 2.5" and utilities for cloning the unit.
