Task costs and annualised costs
I've been looking to see if there is a way to show an annualised task cost within MS Project - as our budgets are annualised, it is helpful to be able to see the estimated cost, say, in the current financial year. We currently show full task costs (i.e. the cost over a number of years).
We can run a Budget Cost Report which breaks down costs by week so that you can look at planned cost over a given period. Is it possible to add columns into MS Project that will show you this as you update the schedule, rather than having to run the cost report each time?
Many thanks!
Matt.
Re: Task costs and annualised costs
The data from the Budget Cost Report is from the Task Usage view. Apply the view and add cost to the timescaled portion (right side) of the view. (Task Usage Tools Format tab, select Cost in the details section.)
You may then zoom in or out (View tab) to see weeks, months, days, etc as needed.
