Monitor for PS3

I'm planning to buy a PC monitor with HDMI port. Can I comnnect my PS3 with it via HDMI cable. Is there any specific settings for this?

Well, you can go with the Sonic VX2453mh-LED Black 23.6" Full HD HDMI LED BackLight LCD Monitor Slim Design w/Speakers 250 cd/m2 DC 30,000,000:1 (1,000:1) which has two HDMI inputs and vga ports as well. All you need is a hdmi cable to hook the playstation 3 to the monitor and you will be just fine. Hope that helps

Thanks Hockson. I've finally bought Samsung 23" LED full HD. I've connected with PS3. Picture is coming perfectly but i'm not getting any sound. Any idea how to get sound. Do i need any diff tybe of cable?

Have you tried updating the Playstation 3 and turned the audio output settings to HDMI. If you have the options to change the output audio and choose from PCM or either Bitstream then try the PCM option and see if that works. Does your monitor has pre-built speaker as well, can you let us know the model of the samsung monitor that you are using?

Model is Samsungs 23"-LS23B370H. I dont think it has any built in speaker. Then how do i get the audio??

Can you try to hook up your playstation with either Scart or Component and then set it to HDMI with the correct resolution for 480p or 720p, etc. If that doesnt work then it may be that the Samsung TV that you have only has HDMI passthrough, so it will give video only but it wont be able to produce any sound.

thanks all for your response. Finally getting the sound using PS3 RCA audio connector. However to connect it to a speaker i had to buy a RCA (Female) to audio 3.5mm (Female) "Y" type connector.
