code 39 on one of my devices on windows 2003 server
Hi All
I have a code 39 on one of my devices on my windows 2003 server. I have tried to uninstall in device manger or update the driver. Even if I go and manually delete the files they come back on reboot. They are clearly corrupt. I need to get this device working ASAP as its critical to our backup soloution. Any ideas of tools or way to manualy remove the drivers so I can install new ones??
Thanks in advance

Well, what is the make or model of the device for which the driver is not installing and giving error codes? Have you tried going to the manufacturer site and downloading the driver for the same device, if not then do so and see if the drivers are getting installed or not.

Its a Quantum superloader 3. Yep I have downloaded new drivers. which I have tried to use in the following ways.
1. Uninstall the driver > Reboot > = device is back with error code 39
2. Manualy delete the drivers by going to device properties > driver tab > drivers > browse to driver files and delete > reboot > Scan for hardware changes = Device is back with error code 39
3. Click update driver browse to files = No newer version than the one you are using.
Ahhhhhhhh :furious: :furious:
Any Ideas

Have you tried downloading the Quantum superloader 3 Tape Drive Device Driver that supports Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 running on x86 and x64 platforms with DLT tape drives from here. Check whether you also need to update its firmware, you can find it in the same link that i have provided you.

Thankyou for your reply. I have upgrade firmware but none of those drivers work. I don't think its a matter of them not working but more a matter of the corrupt drivers keep coming back. Is there a way to delete the files and stop them coming back?

Can you try to download xTalk for your tape drive from the same page, that will normally evaluate your tape drive's health and determine if it needs to be sent in for service. The application also provides detailed engineering drive analysis information and the abilty to quickly download updates to the firmware, application, online help, test script and release notes.
