Overclocking help for AMD Radeon HD 6850 to 1 Ghz
I need help to overclock AMD Radeon HD 6850 to 1Ghz higher. For that I had did some preparation. I had fixed a dual fan which are special edition for overclocking systems and they are costly too . Second I had a second gpu which is AMD Radeon HD 7850 1GB. First I am going to overclock this and then try another one. So atleast I can figure what can be the consequences. Will adding a 2Gb version of AMD Radeon HD 7850 can provide extra help. Is this a proper idea or should get some detail from benchmarking and review of gpu's

I am not sure about AMD Radeon series bout I had worked with exclusive edition of Sapphire Gpu with minor modifications. I had used only those cards which officially supports overclocking. I had see some low range card which belongs to 5000 series. They are 5850 Extreme & 5830 Gpu. this are quiet good gpu which can tolerate a clock rate of 1Ghz for each 1.250v. It is necessary that you must go through certain review and benchmark report to get clear idea on the gpu conditions.

Overclocking can only be successful if you go with proper configuration. For all cards the the process is different and the settings have major changes. Somehow what we need is high resolution on this cards by overclocking them to a higher rate. The gpu plays a very important part in gaming stuff and it is necessary to consider that the gpu performance is not bottleneck by other system component.

My friend has a AMD Radeon 4890 Gpu. He happily plays a number of pc games with the support of DX9 and there he do not find any need to overclock the system. Nvidia has maintain a good series of Gpu in 6000 range. Anyhow HD7870 is also a better gpu which can work nicely in comparison to Sapphire HD 7870.

I had gone with number of experience in overclocking. It is bit impressive if you can find the right settings and you do not really love to kill your card. But also one thing is needed to be considered is that if gpu damaged with overclocking does not lies under warranty. Also it is recommended that you should upgrade the psu.
