Well this particular code shows that server is simply changing the protocol and it shows that Upgrade header has been returned to the client. It understand by below mentioned example. When a browser is requesting for a page the browser of yours would get statis code of 101 followed by Upgrade header which would show that server has been changing different kind of HTTP. The server is ready to comply the request of the clients through the Upgrade message header field and change into the application protocol is used on the connection. the server will simply switching to the protocol which has been defined by Upgrade header field after having the empty line which has been terminated by 101 response.
According to me protocol should be changed into the situation when it is really benfecila for you. if you are switching to new version of HTTP supposed to be more beneficial as compare to the older version. Also switching to real-time, synchronous protocol could be more benfical when you are delivering resources which are using that type of features.
