Gigabyte 970A-UD3 not able to use DDR3 Ram at 1600 MHz
Well I have purchased Gigabyte 970A-UD3 on which i have installed AMD FX-8120 processor. I noticed an issue that is board is supposed to reverting to DDR3-1333 even though I have set it to DDR3-1600. I have also set to VDIMM to 1.60v. even I got the same output with 1.50v. Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 (2x4GB) memory installed on the system.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.
Re: Gigabyte 970A-UD3 not able to use DDR3 Ram at 1600 MHz
Could be the issue is associated with timing? So in this particular situation I recommend to raise little bit Cas Latency. You should visit the official website see whether memory is available in to compatibility list. Also see that you have installed the latest version of BIOS on the computer of yours. you can get the same from the official website.

Well I was also facing the same issue which you have stated over here. I have set memory to use Profile1 and it worked for me. however selecting 1600 did not worked for me at all. I used profile which was set to 1600 worked for me. I hope it will be useful to resolve the matter.
Re: Gigabyte 970A-UD3 not able to use DDR3 Ram at 1600 MHz
After going through the problem of yours I think you have to do with CAS timings from the Profile. In case CAS 8 or CAS 7 should be at 1333 mhz. you have changed the multiplier in order to get it to 1600 mhz. you should try to run at CAS 8 or timing which was having to set to get 1333 and I think it is the root cause of the problem which you have mentioned over here.
Re: Gigabyte 970A-UD3 not able to use DDR3 Ram at 1600 MHz
You should perform below mentioned steps and let me know whether it is working or not.
- First of all you should enter into BIOS setup by pressing Del key.
- Go for Advanced memory setting.
- Here you have to change performance enhance to Standard from Turbo.
- After that save the setting which you have made and restart the computer.
