Missing features from Acer Iconia A501
I bought the Acer Iconia A501 and I found some of the disappointing things in that and I wish to discuss those things with you. Here is the list:
- If you see the market then you will find that the google voice is missing from there.
- It is having Skype installed but without the video support.
- Market is not showing the Netflix.
- Plantronics Voyager Pro headset is paired with Bluetooth but cannot detect the headset or the handsfree profile.
- Internal mic looks worthless at first use.
Re: Missing features from Acer Iconia A501
These are not the limitation of the google or the Acer's design. It is because of the Skype which have decided not to have the video support. This is the sectio0n of the marketing campaign within the US where just the proffered carriers phone will have the video calling with the skype. In the same manner the Netflix is also doing t in the same manner and that is the reason that it is made to function with the preferred set of the devices. Actually Netflix can be prepared to function with the A500 thought but I have not seen somebody being successful by means of the Skype.
Re: Missing features from Acer Iconia A501
This is not having the video calls support with the Skype and that is because of the Skype and not the Acer. Netflix has not supplied the support for a500 but we cover a work around which will enable it and permitsyou to watch video but you will have to root your Iconia at the start.
Re: Missing features from Acer Iconia A501
The Acer Iconia Tab A501 is comparable in features to the already well-known model A500 has, other than in addition to neither the wireless N UMTS interface nor a built-in module to access the Internet via the mobile network of up to 21.6 megabits each second downstream. The capacitive touch screen TFT-LCD device has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels and features a 16:10 aspect ratio for playback of HD content. For the computing power of dual-core processor Tegra 2 of Nvidia with a clock speed of 1 gigahertz and a 1 GB large memory (DDR2) responsible for the smooth display of HD movies and gaming (1080p) provides Nvidia GPU Geforce Ultra Low-Power. The tablet also supports Flash 10.3. Soon, a FOTA update (firmware over the air) allows the transmission of HD content from the Tablet to a TV via the HDMI port.
Re: Missing features from Acer Iconia A501
The A501 is missing in comparison to only the UMTS functionality, quite well off and won us over with 4 of 5 points as a good middle class Honeycomb Tablet. Now there than the A501 which costs depending on the size of internal memory (16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB).
Re: Missing features from Acer Iconia A501
Another downside is that the Iconia A501 and NBB product pages still come with Android Honeycomb 3.0 but is the update to version 3.1 and even in these hours will be rolled out on the A500. So far there is hope that The A501 will quickly come to enjoy the enhanced OS version. Who wants to play it safe wait, and does, until one update to 3.1 is widely available and to the 3G tablet also has the major channels.
