Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
Hello friends, I have to use Internet Explorer with the ActiveX MLS (Multiple Listing System); I am a real estate agent. I just bought a new MacBook Pro with 4G memory. What would you say is the best option? This is really the only application you need to run smoothly, quickly and efficiently. What do you think is the best setup? I tried to cross; it did not work quite right. So please give some of the method or tell me that what you think about it and also which the best is. Thank you.

Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
As others have said, you can go to each site (as well as Oracle to try Virtual Box) and get a free trial for each of the products. I would recommend giving each a try and see what you like. I presently have licenses for VMware Fusion 3.1 and Parallels Desktop 6. I have also tried the Virtual Box in the past also. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, so be sure to give each a full workout during your trial period to ensure that you do everything you need. In the end, I still use Bootcamp to boot into native Windows for some things, and the rest tend to use Parallels. That is what seems to suit my needs better now, but I have still some minor issues with Parallels I have to work especially when I use it. Hope might get some help and also it will be useful to you.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
I will suggest you to download the Parallels and Fusion both and tried for free on the system and see that which is good and also which is the best to use on the system; this is how you will get the idea.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
It's a bit long to post my full results of the two here. So here is a link to the two articles I wrote in my blog. The first link here the initial results of Parallels Desktop vs. VMware Fusion 7 3, which is before 4 were released. And here is the updated version then after that buy VMware Fusion 4. Only a background where my opinions may be based on, I am a user of both on a regular basis since the merger v3 and now four, and the parallels v 5, 6 and now 7. I also use the free Oracle (SUN) Virtual Box to work. You search on the Google and you will get the links for the solutions. Hope this might help you.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
I have used both of them and if all you need to use the Internet Exploiter, then moreover one should work fine and also better to use on the Macbook Pro.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
Both are attractive good options and the current versions are very unwavering indeed. Both also the same price at U.S. retail $ 79.99 and provide almost the same set of features. A quick search on Google, Twitter and also it reveals two fields that are generally satisfied with their choice. So, would you choose? To be honest, I do not think I can give that answer. However, what you can do instead is to share my experience perhaps after using both VMware Fusion and Parallels Desktop 3 6 for Mac for over a year now and before long after the trial impel Parallels Desktop 7 for about a week.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
The best answer is that you should try both of them and also see that which is the best and also which is giving you no problem to use it and also you will be able to use, hope you have got the point which I want to say.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
First, I think one of the best points 4 VMware Fusion (and VMware in general) is its ability to support many popular guest operating systems. This is possibly one of the main reasons why you want to run VMware Fusion instead of Parallels. I mean, even formally support by Novell NetWare and myself, that you need to run a Solaris guest operating system, sometimes to run the tests for work and only allowed me to run Solaris 11 VMware Express without any problems. So, if being able to run a wide range of operating systems as guest operating system is important to you, then look no further. VMware Fusion 4 would be one of your best choice in this area, especially so if you need more than just Windows XP, OS or Linux OS. But wait, what about Parallels Desktop 7, then? Well, if you only have to run Windows, the a variety of well-liked Linux distributions (I personally have tried Ubuntu, Fedora and Red Hat and work very well) and OS X, Parallels works well also. However, when I try to boot Solaris 11 in Parallels Desktop 7, just hang on the home screen. Not even go all the way in booting up the image of Solaris in which you can install the operating system.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
The best and also the good method is that you should try to download both of them and see which the best is and also which is coming as the winner when you are using it. Doing this you will surely get the perfect and also the best to use with the Macbook Pro.
Re: Which are the best Parallels vs. VMware on Macbook Pro?
I see that Parallels has always been at the forefront in getting new features out on the market much faster than VMware. In addition, Parallels Desktop for Mac is perhaps one of the main products of Parallels, so I'm sure a lot of investment dollars going to R & D of product as well. In the case of VMware Fusion is the only product of its portfolio Mac between huge, so it is not difficult to see a smaller focus than their other products. Therefore, it is no surprise that Parallels Desktop is the first virtualization software that leverages the capabilities of the Lion.
