Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
I bought a range extender for my wireless signal to get to where the bluray player so it could transmit Netflix. The extender works for connection to a Windows laptop. The first time you connect, I have to configure the connection to MyWiFi extender, but works fine after that.
I can connect the adapter with the bluray player. It says I have full reception and everything seems fine. The thing is that when I try to connect to Netflix or any other Internet application, the message says I'm not online. I am able to connect to another network, but network extension. I've heard that others were able to connect their Internet-ready devices though.
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
It is not pulling the IP of your main router. Static IP address in the configuration of players and also make use of ISP DNS server IP in the player and see.
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
Netgear Wr2000rpt has nothing to do with static ip .The player must use the information in the existing network of primary subnet routers.
Example
Code:
192.168.0.x
255.255.255.0
192.168.0.2
192.168.0.2 (DNS). Or make use of ISP DNS server IP
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
Yesterday I tried to put a static IP address on my Netgear WNDR3700 router and then unite the WN2000RPT to static address. I linked with the SSID that the configuration of static address on the router ID in observation of the fact that, my laptop throughout the installation of WN2000RPT could unite to the extender, on the other hand it was not able to acquire Internet access.
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
Have you try ISP DNS server ip on the PC side as well?
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
I have the same difficulty. I updated the WN2000RPT have a static IP address (192.168.1.2xx). I have AT & T, and gateway and DNS server is 192.168.1.xxx. I updated as well. Then he changed the configuration of the blue ray player to have the same 192.168.1.254 as gateway / DNS, and I have a static IP 192.168.1.2xx. Still getting the same error. Any ideas?
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
I tainted the gateway IP address of the router. Still not operational. perceptibly this is new to me. Mywifiext settings:
Code:
IP Address 192.168.1.2xx
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.1.2xx
DNS Server 8.8.8.8
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
Sorry, I know what you mean. I have not done anything with the player until you can get the laptop to the Internet. The extender is in our front room, with cable in Blue Ray player. I am connecting through the wireless network in my laptop to try to get the correct settings. Is not the correct configuration?
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
Before doing so, can you confirm I can set everything right? Extender is restored to factory settings. Then follow the instructions to configure the network with the same security _EXT my network "normal" wireless and do not change any other settings. When I tried to connect with _EXT could not connect to the Internet. I changed the IP configuration of my laptop and still could not connect.
Does any wrong steps, which may be causing the trouble. I would not change WEP if I'm doing something wrong
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
It should be simple as scanning the network, once you find it, apply and connect encryption should. The rest can cause perhaps using WEP encryption. But again I said it cannot be the main cause of problems, but not hurt to try others and see.
Re: Blu ray player and Netgear WN2000RPT
For WEP, yes, but I'm just saying that others use encryption. The basic configuration is done correctly. WEP is 100% hack able WEP in technology today are slowly disappearing.
