HP pavilion t680 Sticks in standby/sleep
Hi, wonder if anyone can help.
My system; HP pavilion t680.uk. AMD Athlon 64 running windows XP (32bit)
Computer about 6 years old.
I recenly had to replace the graphics card, and had various problems which I solved with recovery and full re-istallation including SP3.
The only problem I have remaining is that if I select in power options for standby, then it goes into standby (sleep) but will not come out of this state.
The power light remains lit (not flashing). The only way I can overcome this, is to hold in the power button for several seconds which reboots the PC.
I can of course elect not to go into standby, then all is fine. I have looked at the BIOS but the only selection is for pwer up after AC disconnection.It's just
It's just a niggle really and wondered if anyone has any ideas?

Can you try to right click the battery icon in the system tray and then go to power options. In there you will see three types of power plans and you will need to change the setting for each plan manually. Start with which ever you like, and click on "change plan settings". After that go to "change advanced power settings" and here you should manually customize the settings you.
