I am building a corporate distro. I am upgrading Office 2003 to Office 2007. Our test user pointed out some problem viz. we are unable to push distro if we have installed Outlook 2007. Is there any short cut way to install recently using OST file from the Outlook 2003. PST file which are opened in Outlook does not import to Outlook 2007 automatically. We have to do manually import and export of the file. Please provide us an appropriate solution.

There are certain steps which will enable you to solve your problem. Close your Outlook. Search for the .ost file and create backup of the file. Search for the “Mail” in your Control Panel. You should add exchange server account. You must check "Cached Exchange mode" Open your Outlook. It will connect to exchange server account. It will make new copy of ost. From file menu select “Work offline” Make your Computer disconnected from the network. Again close your Outlook. You should replace fresh created .ost file with original. Open your Outlook. You have to open your .pst file. Now you can copy content from .ost to .pst
Well you can also do the following steps. Take back up of all the OST files. You have to rename outlook.ost with outlook.pst. To repair outlook.pst files Run scanpst.exe. It is located in to C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033.You have to rename outlook.pst with outlook.ost. Now you have to run OST2PST which is a software utility. It will convert to outlook.pst. Now your Outlook will open outlook.pst file.
