Migrate from SBS2008 to Server 2008 r2 Enterprise
Has anyone done a migration from SBS2008 (running exchange 2008 sp3 and is a DC, also Sharepoint) to Server 2008 R2 Enterprise?
I have 2 server 2008 r2 enterprise installations over Hyper V as virtual machines on a separate box.
I want to import the Exchange 2007 sp3 from the sbs2008 box to one of the virtual servers and the DC etc on another.
I was think of doing a copy Physical to virtual server of the sbs2008 installation and migrate from there. That way it won't interfere with the existing server until I'm ready to actually switch over.
I'm not sure of the actual process to convert everything over to server 2008 r2 enterprise. It's not part of the normal upgrade path at MS.

From what I have learned it is not in the upgrade paths. Create 2 forms of backup for your server. Use NTDSutil to perform an IFM media backup of Active Directory. Use wbadmin or windows server backup to perform a full media backup. The IFM will make it easier to replace into Active Directory in the future.
ntdsutil.exe "activate instance NTDS" ifm "Create Sysvol Full [drive]:\folder" q q
