Firmware v1.3.2.0 for Cisco RVS4000 VPN router
I have 2 RVS4000 VPN routers in my office and both are in working condition. Both will not accept firmware updates via the administrator browser interface using Internet Explorer 8.0. I tried many times with OS update and Internet Explorer updates but I was not successful at all. After struggling I tried Google Chrome for 1 router and Mozilla Firefox for other one. The updates went successful. I have also downloaded it from the Cisco web site and it is also working properly. But I think that the firmware version which I have updated was slightly older one not the latest one. I don’t know how could this happen. It seems to me that it is not updating via Internet Explorer. Do you any reason for this?
Re: Firmware v1.3.2.0 for Cisco RVS4000 VPN router
It seems to me that the Internet Explorer 8 somewhat not supporting update of firmware due to some security reason. But as you say the Mozilla Firefox and Google chrome successfully updated it but with slight older version. I think that these browsers couldn’t able target the new firmware v1.3.2.0 for RVS4000 VPN. Otherwise the update feature is not included for those browsers in v1.3.2.0. Whatever the version may be ensure that the routers are working fine without any issues after the recent updates.
Re: Firmware v1.3.2.0 for Cisco RVS4000 VPN router
It seems to me that the firmware v1.3.2.0 is a beta version and because of this reason the Web browsers didn’t update it for now. I searched over internet I didn’t completely found this version of firmware. Did you successfully flash the router? The internet explorer is not allowing firmware update through it because some ports might have been closed by the router itself which it uses for. Manually open the ports which seem to be right for you.
Re: Firmware v1.3.2.0 for Cisco RVS4000 VPN router
I think that you had tried to update the firmware of both routers at same time and using the same browser. This may cause the problem. Otherwise some security application is making some sense regarding this issue. turn of the firewall before upgrading the firmware and also disconnect client connection if needed.
