Re: GTX 260 overclock on air
I immediately conclude overclocking my GTX 260 1.7gb.One obsession I’m concerned regarding is to facilitate my temperature keep increasing about 76C-80C.At this time my settings are:
Core clock: 670 MHZ
Memory Clock: 1194 MHZ
Shaders I left sync with the Core Clock, they are with reference to 1396 MHZ
I use a stress utility I’m using by means of the Real Time HDR IBL in addition to the tweaking utility is EVGA Precision.I've run an FFXIV benchmark as well and it had no error, only the temperature to doubts me constant through the fan at highest.
Re: GTX 260 overclock on air
As per my experience those temps seem good enough - as regards the same as mine. Even I have the same card and at stock speed this card runs ~75C under stress with fan at 60%, ~78-80C with fan at 60%.
Currently I’m keeping it at 630 MHz Core and 1100 Memory and it runs ~75C at 60% fan. Are you having enough space around your case? Because these cards drain hot air out the backside. At 100% fan speed, the temperature shouldn’t go on top of 75C still beneath stress . I use MSI Afterburner to regulate clocks and Kombuster or 3D Vantage to stress.
Re: GTX 260 overclock on air
I have recently updated my nVidia software and currently I am getting little confused with my GTX 260 as now I am overclocking it even more then that I was able a few days ago. Presently I am at 650/ 1250 MHz stable. Few days ago with 671 MHZ would mess up. But even with stock cooler those settings are heating up my card upto 85 to 90 degree celcius.
Re: GTX 260 overclock on air
Even my temperature goes about 95 degree Celsius when I am running furmark for almost five minute but it stabilizes at this temperature. If you are really too worried about this then another solution to this is to run your fan at about 90 to 100 % when you are playing games by manually setting it. I am doing this when I am using stock cooling for my GTX 260. This really helps by keeping the temperature really at a nice temperature.
Re: GTX 260 overclock on air
It actually depends on the case. If you are having one with many fans previously in then there is no need to open it.Intended for cases that have a most of 2 fans then if you open the case will do a lot.I don't believe you are able to also raise the voltage with rivatuner, cards got to use the volterra voltage regulator which uses the register value to locate the voltage and I don't believe the 55nm cards are using to facilitate.ambient temp pass on to the measurement taken from the graphic card.If there is no airflow subsequent to 1hr of gaming after that actually is able to get far above the ground to about 60-70.
