Upgrading from Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard 32bit to Windows Server 2008 Standard 64 bit
Can I upgrade a server currently running on Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard 32 bit to Windows Server 2008 Standard 64 bit?
I built the 2003 server with the view to upgrading it to Windows Server 2008 Standard. When i put the upgrade disk into the CD drive nothing happened even after a reboot of the server. There isn't an issue with the CD drive as I test it.
Can anyone tell me why this may be happening and if possible if there is a solution to it.
Thanks,
K

you can not upgrade from 32bit to 64bit
you need to do full install by booting to the CD
