First let me know whether you are using the Roxio Burn with the device of yours which is notified as problem in most of the Dell System. If you are using the same then i will advise you to uninstall the older version of the Roxio burn and then install the Roxio Burn A00 version and see whether the issue got resolved or not.

I was having the same problem of the skipping of the sound with the device of mine. I have searched a lot for the same and later on i come to know that the problem is because of the Dell DataSafe local which is skipping the sound. The solution is to update the dell DataSafe Local and the problem got resolve. So if you can then try this out.

I will advise you to go with the uninstallation of the Sound device driver for the system and later on install it again. Just go to the device manager and then uninstall the same. Now reboot the system and let the Windows Automatically install the driver for same. So try this out and see whether it is working for you or not.
