Windows Server 2008 - about Hyper-V and Terminal Service
Hi folks,
Win Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit
1)
Start -> Server Manager -> Roles
-> Add Roles
Hyper-V
If (check) it -> Install
Would it be the same as installing Hyper-V Server 2008 on the box? OR I have to install "Hyper-V Server 2008 separately? Thanks.
2)
Where can I find the "Terminal Service"? It is NOT there. Is it renamed as "Remote Desktop Services?
Re: Windows Server 2008 - about Hyper-V and Terminal Service
This is the procedure for installing the Hyper-V role on Windows Server 2008:
- Click Start and click to open Server Manager.
- Locate the Roles Summary area of the main Server Manager window.
- Click Add Roles.
- On the Specific Server Roles page click, Add Hyper-V.
- Follow the prompts to finish installing the Role and click OK when finished.
More information can be found here.
Re: Windows Server 2008 - about Hyper-V and Terminal Service
For installing that you will need a Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 installation disc. Just insert the disc and boot from cd. Then follow the screen wizard. The installation is similar to Windows Server 2008. I am not sure about the other installation mode. The terminal for the same then can be accessed from the run box in start menu.
