GPU accelerated web browser
Heard about the GPU accelerated web browser and hence i wanted to know more about the GPU accelerated browser. Also please tell me what are GPU accelerated browsers. what is the difference between the GPU accelerated browser and the normal browsers. Please name some of those browser. Thanks i advance
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
The GPU accelerated browser was announced in March and supported by AMD and NVIDIA, this API will be built using the OpenGL ES 2.0. Khronos expects to benefit from developments HTML 5 to offer GPU acceleration without plug-in with the appearance of OpenGL ES functionality in JavaScript. Mozilla, Opera and Google have already announced their support.
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
The Firefox browser is the alternative most widely used Internet Explorer on the market today, but not without what many consider its biggest drawback: it is slow and consumes many computer resources. Mozilla developers are aware of the problem, and little by little we will see how to test new features that speed up Firefox. Recently we have seen two of these improvements.
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
The idea of an Internet browser is not GPU accelerated Adobe does with its Flash since version 10. However, WebGL could be a serious competitor offering an open standard, free like the developers need to pay licensing. WebGL be released during the first half of next year. This technology will definitely help the browsers to increase the browsing speed. Note finally that Nvidia is not the only partner in the Adobe Open Screen Project ARM, Samsung, Intel is also involved.
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
In this case, the acceleration will allow Geforce netbooks based on the Nvidia platform ION (and therefore embarking Geforce 9400M chipset) to play streaming HD Flash stutter-free, which is impossible via the single-processor Atom. This new version of Flash Player accelerated by the Geforce would be very useful on Apple machines. Flash is now very poorly optimized for Mac OS. The implementation of the collaboration between Nvidia and Adobe for accelerating video playback by Flash Geforce graphics chip is coming soon, and more specifically to October 5. The collaboration began in the Open Screen Project launched by Adobe, which aims to allow playback of Flash content on as many devices as possible.
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
The first is JagerMonkey, a new Javascript engine that Firefox would allow speeds to 30 or 40% higher, overcoming the limitations of the current TraceMonkey engine . In addition, developers say they have not yet been entertaining to optimize the engine and squeeze all the possibilities, so that we might find even more speed.
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
JagerMonkey has not yet appeared in the public versions of the browser, but you can test the GPU rendering accessing about: config in Firefox and setting the Boolean gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled to TRUE after creating a new integer value called mozilla.widget.render-mode and set to 6. For all these changes to take effect is to restart the application.
Re: GPU accelerated web browser
Another novelty is the rendering of web pages sources GPU accelerated through a new feature that has appeared in the latest nightly builds of Firefox and that DirectX 11 would help. As JägerMonkey is at an experimental stage, and turn causes some conflicts with extensions such as Stylish and AdBlock +.
