Re: What is kneber botnet
Kneber is a network of 75,000 zombie computers, that is to say machines infected by a malicious program, by Zeus, and controlled remotely by hackers. More than 100 other botnet ZeuS already exist. The security company NetWitness said he could access the control server of a network of zombie computers made up of 75 000 compromised machines located in 2,500 companies and government agencies.
Re: What is kneber botnet
This virus is the botnet that has been created by compromised by the Trojan ZeuS. This network called zombie Kneber has been identified by the publisher NetWitness January 26, 2010. The objective is to steal personal data on compromised machines by the Trojan ZeuS, including usernames and passwords. This malware is also able to explore and Exfiltrate data stored on hard disks.
Re: What is kneber botnet
The botnet does not lead to upheaval in the world of cybercrime. The botnet now exist for several years, in various sizes. According to SecureWorks, it would be easy to find at least a hundred other networks of zombie PCs based malware ZeuS. The attacks appear to be the work of talented hackers especially since the machines were infected with several bots. This makes it more difficult to eradicate since botnet disinfection of one of them does not mean that the machine is more vulnerable.
Re: What is kneber botnet
Kneber does not stop there, it attempts, as all variants of Zeus, to retrieve connection information from many banks and financial institutions. It would also be very dangerous for companies because it allows cyber criminals who control them to retrieve any file on the infected machine and also provides remote access to corporate network. a better antivirus protection can make your pc more secure.
Re: What is kneber botnet
It is somewhat similar to Zbot/Zeus/Trojan-Banker.Win32.Bancos. The purpose of the malware is to steal any information that may be sold or used like password, credit card number, telephone number, etc. You have to keep your antivirus up to date for that. If you find this files in your pc then just delete them. They are oembios.exe, sdra64.exe and ntos.exe.
