Risk of using un-patched media player
Recently I have heard the news about the risks of using un-patched software. It was something like this “You are at a great risk if you are using un-patched software.” Well I am just a novice user to such kind of stuff. Actually the threat is from un-patched software or un-patched software will make my personal computer vulnerable to viruses or worms. Exactly where the threat is and what are the risks?
Re: Risk of using un-patched media player
If you play flash file which is infected, in your media player or use older version of firefox which can browse itself to any link. Then your personal computer is vulnerable to latest virus and worm. The best way of getting rid of these vulnerabilities is to update software’s installed on your personal computer
Re: Risk of using un-patched media player
You don’t have to worry till you update your software. Now the next question comes how anyone can know, his/her software is out of date? Answer to this question is; search for the “Software Inspector” and download it is public domain software. Means it can be downloaded for free of cost. After downloading install it and scan your system you will get all the details about out dated software.
Re: Risk of using un-patched media player
“Software Inspector” requires java to run, so for running “Software Inspector” smoothly follow these steps.
You have to right-click the Java icon in the taskbar tray and choose Open Control Panel. Then click on update tab and customize the update notification and click OK. If you prefer to update Java manually you are allowed to do so but using wizard will be simple.
After these steps you can run your “Software Inspector” and update your out dated software.
