Drivers are digitally not signed
I have HP Deskjet D1600 Printer. I try to install driver for that from internet. But when I starts downloading the driver, it shows me message that drivers are digitally unsigned. What is meaning of it? Is these drivers harmful to my printer? Shall I get the new printer? Give me suggestion.
Re: Drivers are digitally not signed
Windows device drivers and operating system files have been digitally signed by Microsoft to check their quality. A Microsoft digital signature is your assurance that a particular files has met a certain level of testing, and that the file has not been altered or overwritten by another program's installation process. Click on start and go to control panel > system > hardware > Driver signing and change the setting. Now onwards you will not get that message.
Re: Drivers are digitally not signed
You can use WinGuides Tweak Manager to change driver signing option. To change driver signing option you have to follow these steps-
1 Click on start and go to run.
2 Type regedit in that input box.
3 Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Driver Signing.
4 change the following value-
Value Name: BehaviorOnFailedVerify
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (0 = Ignore, 1 = Warn, 2 = Block)
Re: Drivers are digitally not signed
If you are downloading drivers and you got that message then simply ignore that message. It doesn't harm your printer. You can download drivers from other site also. Just search on the internet and download that file manually.
